Reimagining emo-rap and hyper-pop music through an online lens, Glaive returns to Vancouver on January 17 at Fortune Sound for an all-ages show ⛓️🥀

In 2020, initially drawn to pop radio and later influenced by the SoundCloud rap movement, Glaive began collaborating with other artists on Discord while experimenting with his own music. By blending elements of emo rap, early 2000s emo, and hyperpop, he developed a dynamic sound showcased in standout tracks like "astrid" and "sick." His 2020 EP cypress grove and the 2021 follow-up all dogs go to heaven expanded his creative vision beyond his bedroom, seamlessly merging various pop eras. These songs carry a playful, video game-like vibe, evolving and intensifying with each listen. Now, with the release of his latest album, may it never falter, Glaive continues to push the boundaries of his artistry.
