\\\ MAIN ROOM ///

From the heart of San Francisco, Blimes is an MC and vocalist whose musical background extends two generations to a blues musician father and jazz musician grandfather, which explains her meticulous attention to musicality. Blimes distinctive voice is globally appreciated and early in her career, she worked with Too Short, LA rapper Gavlyn, and France’s Scratch Bandits Crew. After touring the US and Europe with Gavlyn in 2015, the two, feeling empowered by one another formed an imprint and collective of female identifying artists and creators, ‘Peach House’.

In 2018, Blimes’ undeniable talent and unique history as a battle rapper sparked a collaboration with hip-hop icon Method Man, who proved to be a true fan, proclaiming “Blimes is my favourite” and featuring on ‘Hot Damn’, his contribution to Blimes’ new album Castles, released March 27th 2019. The album’s opener ‘Snake Skin Boots’ was crowned ‘Hottest Record In The World’ by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 with further spins from Nick Grimshaw, Clara Amfo and highlighted by Ebro on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio show. The single was also supported by The Guardian, Uproxx, Dazed, i-D, Clash, Hunger Magazine and Blimes has previously featured on LA Weekly, Billboard, Hip Hop DX, Complex, Hot New Hip Hop and Huck Magazine.

VanCity bred up and coming producer Lola Phyne has been busy captivating local and international audiences for years. Lola’s bouncy, high energy sets are packed with familiar melodies, unique beats and unsuspecting basslines that will get anybody groovin’.

Even with a steady schedule of shows and festivals, Lola is hard at work in the studio collaborating other local and global producers to create and shape a sound that is truly her own.

Inspired by underground rave parties they attended in the 90’s Sky picked up their first set of turntables at the age of 15. Since then, they’ve witnessed the evolution of DJing and electronic music for over a decade and bring in the elements of old school and new school to their DJ sets.

Influenced by Deep House, Bass music and Hiphop, this renegade DJ has love for all genres which is revealed through their original mashups and remixes. Skylar is a strong advocate on breaking barriers for queer DJs and has traveled all over headlining in major cities including Berlin, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Las Vegas, Honolulu, Atlanta, San Francisco and Oakland. Skylar shows versatility through imaginative style and sound over live performances and recorded DJ sets. The mission is to take you on a musical journey of different beats, rhythms and sounds through the medium of freestyle mixing.
