The inevitable end of summer in Vancouver is always marked by two key things: the final date of the PNE (and subsequent weird food extravaganza), and the launch of Fall Festival season in the city. Not only are these festivals some of the best events of the year, but they are richly diverse in programming, communities, and artistic/musical components.

VANCOUVER TAIWAN FEST September 4- September 8 (www.taiwanfest.ca) Celebrate Taiwanese culture with at this free and ticketed festival, which includes loads of live music, culinary demonstrations, cinema, and more.
SWARM XVI Friday, September 11 (various locations) SWARM is an annual event that marks the launch of Vancouver’s ARC (artist-run-centre) programming season, with an array of exhibitions, openings, live performances, screenings, and other unique events.
